The Author
Maya DeLeina was born and raised on the beautiful and romantic beaches of Oahu, Hawaii. Relocating to Colorado, Maya’s crystal blue oceans and powdery white sands were traded for enchanting forests, mystic mountains and golden plains of promise.
Living
just on the outskirts of Manitou Springs, the town’s history of spiritual
healing, eclectic flare, fabled underground tunnels and rumored lore of
wizardry and witchcraft rekindled Maya’s love for the paranormal, metaphysical
and most of all, vampires.
One bite and she was hooked.
With a hint of incense lofting
in the air and the majestic Pikes Peak sitting in picture perfect view from her
windows, Maya can be found relaxing in the recesses of her comfy couch, sinking
her teeth into crafting and weaving seducing and erotic tales of vampires that
may or may not roam her beloved town.
One read and you’ll be hooked!

Excerpt
The snow had intensified in a matter
of minutes. The further she traveled, more and more accumulation piled along
the road. She eased her foot slightly from the gas pedal and engaged the snow
button on the control panel of the SUV.
The vehicle responded immediately,
feeling sluggish under her control but grabbing the ground more to her liking.
She fumbled with wiper controls,
searching for the perfect intervals. Back and forth the wipers crossed the
windshield at varying speeds until she settled on particular setting. With one
clean swipe, the fury of the snow unleashed. Relentless and powerful, it
consumed the visibility and left her in a state of fright.
“Fuck!”
Her eyes scanned the landscape.
To her right stood the carved
mountain terrain covered in white. To her left, a sheer drop off into the
canyon below. An unconvincing guardrail stood, covered in snow and ice, lining
the edge of the road. From the corner of her eye, a portion of the bright blue
scenic point road sign peeked through the thickness of the snow buildup.
The scenic point meant she was at
the top of the pass.
“Here we go.” She
took a deep breath in and slowly released it. The steep downhill journey
would lead her straight to her cottage in the woods.
All in all, she’d
wished for a white Christmas. The
sparkling snow on the pine trees, the
endless rolling hills against the backdrop of the
majestic mountain range was what she’d
pictured for her winter getaway.
But that was from the comforts of
her stone cottage.
Driving in it was an entirely
different story.
