Blog Tour - Lindy and the Wulfen by R. E. Butler

A little bit of wolfy lovin'!

The Wolf’s Mate, Book 7
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Publication Date:  May 6, 2014
Print Length: 150 pages
ASIN: B00J2CJNK0

After a devastating blow to her already fragile self esteem, werewolf Lindy Vincent has decided to stop being the pack whore and change her life for the better.  With the help of her two best friends, her alpha female, and a feisty she-wolf named Eula, Lindy starts down the road of self-improvement, happy for the first time in years.

Crimson Ta'rek is a Wulfen, a cross between a wolf and a fairy, and the only one of his kind.  After casting a spell for his truemate, he finds himself in the Mortal Realm rescuing the she-wolf meant to be his.  When someone from his past threatens Lindy, Crimson will show the realm why no one messes with a Wulfen’s mate.

This book contains one Wulfen with eyes only for his mate, a she-wolf trying to start her life over, and the spell that brings them together.  Expect plenty of shifting, growling, and neck biting, fairy magic, and gratuitous use of the word “mine.”

Interview

I had the lovely opportunity to interview R. E. Butler about what makes her tick in a man, and what's next for her and her novels.

Tell us 5 things that make you happy

A spontaneous hug from my kids
First cup of coffee in the morning
A quiet evening at home with the family
Typing “the end” on a book
Homemade mac and cheese

What makes your perfect man, perfect? What do you look for in a hero?

My perfect man will be a mixture of Ryan Gosling in The Notebook and Charlie Hunham in Sons of Anarchy.  A gentleman who can defend my honor when called for.  Sexy and dangerous, as handy with a hammer as his fists.

What qualities make up your least favourite heroine?

I don’t care for heroines that purposely make bad choices (the too-stupid-to-live stereotype), and those that hide or lie about their feelings.

Do you have any quirks? When writing, or otherwise?

I like to eat candy by color - M&Ms, fruit Mentos, Skittles...I sort and then eat, saving my favorite flavor/color for last.   When I write by hand, I have a certain pencil that I like to use, and if I can’t find it, I go nuts looking for it.

Do you have any hobbies that you take part in when you aren’t writing?

Boating, clamming, crabbing, and reading are my favorite activities.

What do you like to read?

Paranormal Romance

If you had to pick one of your characters to survive a zombie apocalypse with, who would it be and why?

I’d pick Crimson Ta’rek.  Not only can he shift into a big wolf, but he can also fly and can create and control fire.  He’d be very handy in a zombie apocalypse.

Tell us a bit about how the idea for your book came about.

The idea of the wulfen character first appeared in the sixth book in the series and was just something I tossed in on a whim - a wolf and fairy mixed up together.  My editor suggested it would make a good storyline and she was right!

Which of the seven deadly sins are you most partial to? Which do you indulge in the most?

I probably waver the most between gluttony and sloth.  I’m a born procrastinator and I love to indulge my sweet tooth.

Who is the person who most inspired you? Either in your life, or writing?

SE Hinton is the first author that inspired me.  She published her first book at age fourteen, and I wanted to be like her so much.  Even though I’m older than fourteen (ahem), she’s still the first professional I think of when I consider who inspired me to pick up the pen and write.

Do you have a favourite quote?

“If you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.” ― Catherine Aird

Can you tell us a little about your latest project?

The Wolf’s Mate Book 7 is the continuation of life in a small wolf pack in the fictional town of Allen, Kentucky.  The heroine of the book began as an antagonist to the current alpha female of the pack, and had gotten a pretty bad rep in the series.  Through some pretty hairy situations, Lindy redeems herself and finds her mate, but supernatural forces are working against them and...you’ll just have to read it to find out!

Last but not least, if you could be anyone else in the world, who would it be, and why?

Angelina Jolie because...Brad Pitt!

Hell yeah Brad Pitt :P It was awesome getting to know you and I gotta agree on the M&M's. Nom.

Come join R.E. Butler and special guest authors on Saturday, May 11th  from 12:oopm EST - 9:00pm EST to celebrate the release of LINDY & THE WULFEN, the seventh book in The Wolf's Mate series.  There will be a Q&A with R.E., Trivia Games and LOTS of giveaways!

Author Bio

I always wanted to be a homebody and live in one place for my entire life, but fate had other plans. In the past twelve years of my married life, we’ve moved seven times, including from one coast to the other. Southern New Jersey is home now and I love it.  I have two young children, a husband who begrudgingly pays for my ebook addiction, and two dogs that think they’re people. After college, I spent eight years as an executive assistant before “retiring” at twenty-seven to become a stay-at-home mom. I have a soft spot for self-published authors, Ghirardelli chocolate, muscle cars, and men with tattoos.  Most people who know me don’t know I have a tattoo of a tiger on my hip or that I have an unhealthy obsession with The Simpsons.

I love sunsets, several cups of coffee in the morning, and I absolutely cannot live without books. When I’m not busy with my family, you’ll find me sitting at my desk working on any number of projects, including reading, reviewing, and writing.

I adore talking to fans and other authors, so please write to me!  You can email me at rebutlerauthor@gmail, visit my website, find me on Twitter, or join me on Facebook.
